mean_plus_stddev()

Calculates the mean + n standard deviations of metric timeseries in the input stream

Syntax

Aggregation

mean_plus_stddev([stddevs=ndevs][, by=grp])

Parameter Type Description

ndevs

integer. Default is 1.

Optional: Number of standard deviations to add

grp

string or list of strings. Default is None.

Optional: Names of properties to group the results by

Transformation

mean_plus_stddev([stddevs=ndevs][, over=duration])

ndevs

integer. Default is 1.

Optional: Number of standard deviations to add

duration

Duration (number and duration units indicator)
Durations are specified as a number followed by a single character:

  • s: seconds

  • m: minutes

  • h: hours

  • d: days

The default is None.

Optional: Duration over which to get the mean + standard deviations of the metric timeseries in the input stream

Both forms return a reference to the input stream object.
